A – When I set out to write Angel Unborn, I wanted to write the kind of books I like to read. My favorites are usually paranormal romance novels with not only strong heroes but strong heroines who can stand on their own. I enjoy a great fantasy or science fiction novel as well. Basically, anything with a kick-butt attitude and a touch of something different that grabs my attention.


The Deadly Sins books are a great mix of these genres. You'll find the series focuses on angels and demons but also features psychics, ghosts, the mythical gods, and other supernatural favorites. Either I have commitment issues, or I like to keep things interesting! I’d like to think it’s the latter.

Overall, the Deadly Sins series is designed to keep you turning the pages - and I've made sure there's never a dull moment.

Q - What order should I read the books in?

A - I’ve written the series so you can read the books in any order (except for All Wicked’s Eve—it should be read after Demon Undamned). If you do want to read them in order, I'd suggest the following sequence:

Fantastic Read!

I have quickly become addicted to Andris Bear's writing and it is books like this that have caused my addiction. Her characters are wonderful. They are snarky, quirky and just down-right fun. This is a fast-paced paranormal, suspense story and has all of the twists and turns that I have learned to expect from Mrs. Bear. The mystery, action and suspense keep you so involved with the characters that you won't want to put the book down. The only problem with this book is that it ended way too soon and left me wanting more! If you haven't had a chance to get All Wicked's Eve, I highly recommend it and all of her other books.

This series is AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!. I am waiting on the next book eagerly. Read all of this series in less than one work week and now I'm kind of kicking myself because I have to wait for the next part to the series. She puts a very funny spin to the story that keeps it relatable. The characters are funny and the storyline keeps you engaged for the entire length of the series. Please hurry and finish the next one!!!!

Quick and easy read

There were a few editing errors but nothing to make it unreadable. I would have liked the leading lady to be a little less wish washy with choosing which brother to secretly date. There is a big build up to the end and the book closes with one line. No epilogue or any type of closer. I felt a little cheated without an ending to close the whole story. I don't know if this will be a series and I didn't really get to invested in the characters as they were all a little shallow without a lot of background. This is an honest review for a free copy.

I'm sorry but the female lead is so unlikeable!! I mean it's not unheard of to be in love/lust with two guys but the sheets weren't cold in one brother's bed and she was in the other brother's bed. She was really experienced for an 18 year old who'd only slept with her high school BF. Finally, the author really needs to hire an editor--seriously.

I had a couple of issues with this book. For one thing the heroine she was so fickle it was not even funny.i just did not like her. I thought Logan was to good for her. As for Austin ugh he did not know what he wanted. I am sorry but this book did not do it for me .

Stunning Book -- great plot, language, characters

This book is a stunning young adult thriller that will get under your skin and haunt you even after you finish it. With language of beauty, urgency, and meaning, we follow a teen through her journey in a dangerous nation divided by religion. Orphaned "K" gets recruited to try to flush out terrorists in one of the main academies run by the religious fundamentalists. K's world has been strictly defined by her "citizen" status, which comes with perks denied the "hoodie" fundamentalists. Her arrival in the other half of the city opens up a whole new world for her -- one that gives an alternative narrative to the citizen-vs-hoodie story she has learned. K navigates an alien culture, which is written with creepy realistic details of being watched and judged and in danger. I won't say anything more about the plot, but I will say if you aren't sucked in by the first few pages, I'd be very surprised. Each character is well drawn and full-fledged, the action is incredible, and the ending superb. I think I held my breath through most of the book. It's a book that will keep you up at night -- don't start it if you have anything important the next day. ;)

Excellent and timely thriller!

We live in uncertain times, a world where lines are increasingly blurred and crossed, where zealots think nothing of spilling blood for their cause while the innocent bystander is caught in the crossfire. Despite this – love, hope and friendship continue to blossom as people stand against the extremists and strive for peace.

ONE OF US by Jeannie Waudby is a perfect example of this never-ending battle as we meet K, a fifteen year old orphan whose life has once again been touched by tragedy as she narrowly escapes a terrorist attack. Recruited by Oskar, an undercover policeman to infiltrate the other side, K soon learns that the truth isn’t always black and white and the enemy so easy to recognise.

K’s world consists of the Brotherhood and the Citizens. Warring for years, the two sides have agreed on an uneasy peace and have begun a reconciliation process to integrate the Citizens and the Brotherhood into one cohesive society. Transgressions such as the bomb attack K experienced threaten its shaky survival. As an attempt to discover potential militant and rogue elements of Brotherhood society, Oscar’s unit recruits K to attend a Brotherhood school and identify students at risk of being drawn to the extremists and used as pawns in their fight. As K is embedded deeper into the Brotherhood, she begins to learn that there are two sides to every story and the “truths” she has been told as a Citizen may not be as accurate as she once thought.

ONE OF US is a tense and thrilling story about betrayal, propaganda, trust and recognising that while there is much to tear us apart, it’s the things that truly make us human that are most easily identifiable and vital for our collective survival. Love, honour and truth –it can be a struggle to find common ground at times, however looking deep within yourself and remembering that hate is taught and not born is a courageous step towards balance and peace. As K spends time with her Brotherhood students, she learns that the actions of the few cannot be allowed to taint the goodness of the many and believing one-sided media reportage without question is dangerous and naive.

From the very first pages to the nail-biting finale, Waudby keeps the reader on edge as we accompany K on her journey of self discovery, reaching deep within herself to find the courage necessary to follow her convictions and stand for what’s right. There’s a strong thread running through the book of manipulation and distortion that keeps both K and the reader on their toes and ensures the pacing of the book never falters. The primary and secondary characterisation was excellent and I really felt I got to know the characters and grew to care for them and their respective stories.
The world-building was strong and left me feeling like I had a good grip on the fragility of the societies in question however it did leave me frustrated that it wasn’t explicitly mentioned what the reason for the split was and what the fundamental differences, be they religion, race, cultural were; however it wasn’t a deal breaker and the importance of the characters themselves was always at the forefront of the plot and therefore it was never a real distraction.

Overall, ONE OF US is a skilfully crafted, tension filled book with a timely plotline and wonderful characters and left me feeling both satisfied and intrigued to read more from Jeannie. Highly recommend.

Right from the beginning, Waudby entices readers with an action packed scene that promises more to come – and she doesn’t disappoint. Meet K, that’s right just the letter, and her world of citizens vs. Brotherhood. As a fifteen orphan, she is easily manipulative and expendable. Her parents and grandmother have been dead for years, leaving her in the hands of a system that doesn’t seem to care what happens to her.

When a bomb goes off at the train station, a passion to help is ignited in K and then Oskar enter the scene. He saved her life, her saw to the girl beneath her façade, and she owed him. So when given the choice to become a spy, to bring down the enemy, she did what any fifteen year old inspired girl would do – she said yes. From there life gets even more complicated for our protagonist as she becomes Verity Nekton. She is thrown into a world she has been taught to fear. She wears red checkered print, becomes an “other” of society, and enters a game where the rules aren’t very clear.

When she starts to care about the new friends, Celestina, Greg, Serafina, and Emanuel, she meets in the Brotherhood and when the things she sees and hears don’t mash up to the information that Oskar are feeding her, K isn’t sure what to do. Stuck in between two worlds, with two different identities, K has to make a choice. Does she stay with the Brotherhood and continue to fall in love or does she complete her assignment and bring the carefully constructed order of her two worlds falling down?

Immediately I felt sympathy for K. She is faced with a choice that would have had me crumbling into a sobbing pile of indecision. The threat she is up against has a name and a face. She knows she is supposed to be afraid and hate them. Yet her gut tells her something isn’t right because these people are just as scared, just as worried. Waudby does a beautiful job creating complex characters that aren’t just one dimensional. K had me annoyed one minute at how easily she was manipulated and wanting to hug her the next when she just didn’t know what to do. Verity, meaning truth, was an ironic name choice and yet didn’t take away from K’s character at all. The only real problem I had with this book was that it ended… and I wanted to know more. Oh and I can’t forget about Greg. He is just… so cute. I don’t want to spoil anymore. Just read the book!

In a nutshell, no one is exactly who they say they are. Everyone has secrets. This world of morals and coming of age is mixed with politics and social expectations. I would definitely recommend it to anyone who knows what it feels like to make a life changing choice and or… anyone else! Growing up isn’t easy. There will be mistakes – but like K, we just have to have a little courage to keep going and do the right thing.

The Perfect Love Story

The perfect love story. The story of William and Kelly is beautifully written and engaging and may just end up being one of those classics. It not only draws you into a beautiful love story (with plenty of steam) that you don't want to put down, but it has substance and meaning and has the potential to help many young women who have battled similar demons. I love the way she portrays her women characters who are strong, independent, and stubborn and so likable you want to hug them. And oh my gosh, William! Like her other books, it has excitement and adventure of the wild west and colorful characters like Daniel Boone, along with watching true love unfold perfectly. Like a beautiful bottle of wine, you'll want to sip and enjoy this one. Don't forget the box of chocolate to go with it! It would make a very lovely gift for Valentine's Day for anyone! Enjoy!

Great Love Story

I thoroughly enjoyed this book. Although it speakers about a social problem, I think a book like this may help some women who have been raped. The love that heals Kelly is so pure, kind and all encompassing. William is a special man who helps Kelly overcome the obstacles that a victim faces. They have a very special love story which heals even the readers to the soul.

Another Great Read by Dorothy Wiley in her American Wilderness Romance Series!

Wiley is three for three in my book since all three books in this series, Wilderness Trail of Love, New Frontier of Love and now Whispering Hills of Love have all received a five star rating from me! This book is again set in the historical time period that I most favor – the American frontier and the formation of America during the Westward expansion. My emotions were engaged throughout with tears, heartache, disbelief, horror, fright, happiness and laughter. This book begins right where book two in the series ends, in Kentucky in the Fall of 1797, although this is totally William and Kelly’s story.

The prologue set the stage for what is to come by retelling a life changing and horrific incident that happened to Kelly in book two. Once again I am transported as if I am there with all of them in Boonesborough, Kentucky – the land of Daniel Boone. We even meet up with Boone several times and it only adds more power to the storytelling. William’s brothers, Sam and Bear, are still with William in Boonesborough and part of the storyline but other family members are remembered and mentioned throughout. There are Indians and their raids, town’s people, thieves, outlaws, family and friends along with wonderful descriptions of the land, the homes, the town, the cavern they sought shelter in, the hardworking people and militia along with romance and love. Kelly has more grit and determination in her than even she could believe but blows William and others away with her actions. Whether she’s loving and kind even after her past hardships, tracking and chasing Indians or fighting for what’s hers, her strength shines through each and every time. Watching her and William be drawn to each other but be unsure of the others feelings was heartbreaking at times. They were each strong in their own right but when they joined forces they were indestructible. Once again it was good to have Sam and Bear with William during some troubling times but we do ultimately see them leave Boonesborough to join their families elsewhere in Kentucky. Riley, the puppy that William gives Kelly, is a nice addition to the storyline and worth his weight in gold!

William. as the Sheriff of Boonesborough. shows us his strengths and it is mind boggling when he lists some of the responsibilities of his job which he takes very seriously. He also shows us his caring side as well as the leadership skills he possesses. Watching him in action, whether dealing with strategies or in a gunfight, and seeing how the people look up to him is very rewarding. He’s learned from the best – his brothers – and his skills are magnificent. There was a happily ever after and lots more happiness promised for the future even in the not totally lawful Kentucky. There was nice closure and all I could do was sigh at the end.

I look forward to reading many more books in the series and can’t wait for Bear’s story to be told in book four! Wiley has become one of my favorite authors over the course of these three books!
